Dr Joe Dispenza – Breaking the Habit of being yourself – chapter 3

 June 17, 2024

The video features Angelique enthusiastically discussing “Breaking the Habit of Being Yourself” by Dr. Joe Dispenza, a highly influential figure in her life. Dr. Dispenza, who holds credentials in chiropractic, biochemistry, and neuroscience, has gained a following for his theories and practices around personal transformation and healing. Angelique shares her personal experience of attending one of his lectures in London, which subsequently led her to participate in his workshops and meditations. Remarkably, she managed to cure her hay fever through these practices, illustrating the powerful impact of Dr. Dispenza’s methods.

Angelique highlights a specific chapter from the book titled “Overcoming Your Environment,” focusing on the concept that greatness involves steadfastly holding onto a dream regardless of one’s current environment. Dr. Dispenza argues that it’s possible to think beyond one’s present reality. He cites historical figures like Martin Luther King Jr., William Wallace, Marie Curie, Mahatma Gandhi, Thomas Edison, and Joan of Arc—all of whom had visionary ideas that existed as potentials in the quantum field. These individuals lived as though their dreams were already coming to fruition, despite lacking sensory evidence or immediate feedback from their environment. By doing so, they eventually transformed their visions into reality.

A significant example provided in the chapter is Mahatma Gandhi. Despite lacking immediate feedback from his environment that validated his efforts, Gandhi remained steadfast in his vision for India’s independence. He believed in a future he could neither see nor experience yet, but which was vivid in his mind. Gandhi acted in ways that aligned with his vision, thereby initiating changes in his current environment. Dr. Dispenza emphasizes that when one’s behaviors match their intentions, and actions are in harmony with their thoughts, immense personal power is unleashed. This alignment between mind and body results in significant personal and social transformations.

Dr. Dispenza underscores that these historical figures were committed to their visions without needing immediate confirmation from their surroundings. They reminded themselves daily of the realities they were working towards, and their minds were always ahead of their current environments. This forward-thinking approach allowed them to remain unaffected by external conditions, focusing instead on their inner convictions.

Another key point in the chapter is the concept of the “greater mind”—an essential element in Dr. Dispenza’s ideology. This greater mind represents genuine alignment with one’s true nature and transcends individual limitations. He acknowledges that many contemporary people might have deemed the visions of these historical giants as unrealistic or nonsensical since these visions existed beyond immediate sensory perception. However, by holding onto these dreams independently of their environments, they achieved greatness.

Angelique concludes by encouraging her students to think beyond their current circumstances. She notes the book is over 327 pages and expresses her desire to find an audio version, as she enjoys listening to Dr. Dispenza. Her final message is one of inspiration: to think big and dream larger than one’s present limitations. The empowering notion is that by doing so, transformative change can be achieved, echoing the life-changing experiences she had through Dr. Dispenza’s teachings.
